Swan Walk Shopping Centre, Horsham, is this year supporting Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice with a Give-mass Tree and donation point, which will help raise vital funds to care for local children and families.
Situated on the mosaic you’ll discover a donation point and Give-mass Tree offering Horsham customers the chance to donate or buy a gift for a child who is cared for by the hospice.
The bespoke Give-mass tags have been personalised with each child and their family in mind. This will help make gift-giving decisions easier when looking for those perfect presents and will go a long way in helping enrich the lives of these children: T is a cheeky, sociable, and fun-loving little girl. However, T has a condition that is so rare that it’s only thought to affect 100 families in the UK. When staying at Chestnut Tree House, she spends most of her time in the art and craft area. She enjoys painting on canvases, moulding play-doh, exploring kinetic sand, and making a mess with slime.
Along with the many wonderful gifts, the Give-mass Tree will also raise crucial funds, which will help Chestnut Tree House to continue providing vital care to local children and families – over the Christmas period and beyond.
Gill Buchanan, Centre Manager said, “We are delighted to be in a position to support such an important local charity this Christmas and know that our loyal and generous customers will make our 2022 Christmas campaign a real success.”
In addition to the fundraiser and present drop-off point, Chestnut Tree House will also be hosting a gift-wrapping station for a small donation, as well as other fundraising events. Gift Wrapping Saturdays will be held between 26th November and 17th December at 10am-3pm each day. On top of that, there will be another set of openings during the Christmas Week: 10am-3-pm on 19th-23rd December, and 10am-1pm on Christmas Eve! You can find the gift-wrapping station opposite Sports Direct.
Nicky Clark, Community Fundraiser at Chestnut Tree House said, “Christmas is a magical time of year, and that’s no different for the children and families we care for at Chestnut Tree House. There are always lots of activities at the hospice in the run-up to Christmas, and we do everything we can to ensure families can enjoy themselves and make some special memories.
“We’re so grateful to Swan Walk for supporting us this year and would like to thank all the shoppers for their generous donations. It costs over £4 million every year to provide all our specialist care services. Only a small proportion of this comes from central government so we rely heavily on the generosity of our local community. Your support makes children’s hospice care possible, now and in the future. Thank you.”
