Visit Horsham and Horsham District Council invited five-year-old Harry Botting and his family to the official switch-on of the 'Rainbow Christmas Tree and Shooting Star' Christmas light in The Forum.
For the second year running, Horsham's Christmas lights have included a custom-made decoration, manufactured by Gala Lights and designed by a child from Horsham.
Our judges chose Harry's design from the many excellent entries received because they loved how he had combined rainbows with traditional Christmas decorations. Harry was still only four years old when he created his design.
The Coronavirus pandemic has dominated life in 2020. Throughout this challenging year, the rainbow has been a symbol of hope and thanks. Children have been creating them for window displays in support of the NHS.
Harry's 'Rainbow Christmas Tree and Shooting Star' has helped carry the message of hope and thanks during the festive period and into 2021.
Visit Horsham would like to thank the following members who had the difficult role of picking a winner from the many high-quality entries:
Annie's Closet
