Recognising that many people are now wanting to start getting out and about more to browse the shops and cafes and enjoy our District’s towns and villages, Horsham District Council is offering free parking in its town and village car parks from 2pm across the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Parking will be completely free from 2pm on Saturday 29, Sunday 30 and Monday 31 August 2020.
This special parking promotion runs alongside our popular ‘Tea at Two’ campaign launched some weeks ago , where the Council worked with local cafes and restaurants to introduce special tea time promotions to encourage visitors into our towns and villages in the afternoons when it is generally quieter.
A wide selection of the District’s cafes and restaurants are offering a range of attractive tea time discounts and offers from two o’clock each day.
Commenting on the parking promotion, Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for the Local Economy Cllr Paul Clarke said:
“It has been a real pleasure to see so many people coming back into our towns and villages recently after the lockdown was eased.
“We think this parking promotion will provide a great incentive to welcome even more people back over the Bank Holiday weekend.
“I would encourage as many of you as possible to come along and enjoy all that our town and village centres have to offer.”
Cabinet Member for Horsham Town Centre Cllr Peter Burgess added:
“This is a great incentive to welcome people to get out and about, browsing our shops and cafes at a time when they can also enjoy a relaxing cuppa as part of our ‘Tea at Two’ promotion.
“We have been working with our local hospitality businesses to support them coming out of lockdown, helping them put all their social distancing and protection in place to make stepping out in our District a safe and enjoyable experience.
“Our local traders are delighted to be welcoming their customers with their special ‘Tea at Two’ offers and our parking promotion is a great way to encourage people back.”
Look out for businesses displaying Tea at Two posters and window stickers to let customers know about their special offers after 2pm.
As well as being open with COVID-safe measures in place for dine-in customers, Horsham District cafes are open for takeaway too.
