Horsham District’s Jobs and Skills Fair is back this year on Saturday 28 September at the Drill Hall, Horsham from 10am to 2pm, hosting some 38 local employers with hundreds of employment, voluntary and training opportunities available.

Over the past four years the Jobs and Skills Fair, organised by Horsham District Council, has seen some 150 employers offer nearly 2000 opportunities and the events have been visited by some 1800 people. Not only that, within weeks of these events, hundreds of people have found a new positon or a new career path, as well as receiving plenty of advice about careers and job finding.

This year will be no exception! Current confirmed employers include regulars Assurity Consulting and Metricell LTP, Construction firm Mountjoy, as well as uniformed forces, UK Border Force and the army. There will also be a healthy representation from the care sector and a wide selection of colleges and training organisations.

Commenting on the event, Horsham District Council Cabinet Member for the Local Economy, Cllr Paul Clarke said:

“This is a free event for anyone who is job hunting, thinks they want to change their job, start a new career or get some training to do something different in their working life.

“The Jobs and Skills Fair has a great track record and over recent years has successfully placed hundreds of local people into local jobs and training schemes. It’s a win, win for our local economy.

“All ages and abilities are welcome, so come along and make the most of the free facilities on offer.”

As well as loads of jobs and other opportunities, there will once again be free employability workshops to help you develop your CV, interview techniques and job applications. The National Careers Service will be delivering these free sessions (check out the website for details) but places are limited so get there early!

The Jobs and Skills Fair is open from 10am and closes at 2pm and in between these hours you not only have the chance to change your life but enjoy a nice cuppa and a piece of cake, as Beeches Buffet will once again be popping up a café at the event.

This is a free event for anyone who thinks they want to change their job, start their career or try some training. Just turn up! It is free and everyone is welcome no matter what their age or circumstances.
