The Sussex Yarn Collection, based on Storrington High Street, Horsham District, offers a wide variety of wools, yarn, and haberdashery to suit every type of pattern and budget. Their range covers the everyday classics to more specialised wools.

The shop was founded by Jane Hitchcock, a Thakeham resident who’s been crafting for some 40 years. Jane started with hand crafts, moved onto knitting, to quilting, and then onto crocheting. Over the years, she has built up an impressive knowledge of colours, colour matching, and texture. Happy to lend a hand, no matter the project, Jane is enthusiastic about passing on her knowledge and passion through both formal and informal tuition. She prides herself on offering a personalised and practical shopping experience to the whole community.

The Sussex Yarn Collection caters for all levels of experience. They offer weekly classes in both crochet and knitting. With the support of experienced crafters, the classes range from the very basics, to knitting in the round, to Tunisian crochet. Every Saturday, the shop hosts an informal “drop-in” session where crafters can come in with problem pieces for advice.
