About Tapestry Day Club:

Tapestry Day Club provides support to people living with early-stage dementia and respite to their carers. Our day clubs enable people living with dementia (our guests) to enjoy an engaging and stimulating day within the intimate setting of a family home of one of our care providers (our hosts). Each day club has no more than 6 people and includes all refreshments, a two-course, home-cooked lunch and optional memory-boosting activities tailored to the interests of each individual person.

Dementia can create deep anxiety, resulting in people becoming socially isolated from family, friends and the communities they live in. We help to rebuild our guests' confidence, reduce the anxiety and encourage and nurture friendships within a safe place. We call it going out for lunch with friends. Transport is generally available, too. Our day clubs also provide valuable respite to the carers, giving them a window of time, up to 5 hours, for themselves in knowledge that the person they care for is safe, engaged and valued. All our hosts are fully trained and EDBS checked. They are also checked by the local Food Inspector.

Our HQ is in Rowhook but our day clubs take place across West Sussex, in particular Horsham where we have 3 clubs. Our hosts generally work in a five-mile radius of their homes, please take a look at our website for all the towns and villages where we run our day clubs. We are also always adding new day clubs in other areas.
