Horsham Rugby Club is situated on the south east edge of the town surrounded by St Leonard’s Forest in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
It is the premier rugby club in the area running three senior sides, and fields teams in every age group from Under 7 up to Under 19.
The club was formed in 1928 and has a long association with Horsham town. Games were first played on the current site of Horsham Golf Club, and then Horsham Cricket Club and Horsham park before moving to the current site at Coolhurst in 1972.
The club is improving its facilities with a new roof to the clubhouse built in 2011, a clubhouse refurbishment in 2012, a new kitchen in 2013, refitted men’s and ladies toilets, upgraded Bar and new decking/patio planned for late 2014 and the build on a new Changing Room Block is set to commence in 2016.
Horsham Rugby Club is a big part of the town and is at the heart of the local community with many non rugby users of its facilities. The clubhouse and grounds are available for hire being a great venue for indoor and outdoor events.
