Visit Horsham > News > Woods for Learning creates and donates over 8500 sustainable woodland discs to provide Christmas joy for children in Horsham and beyond.

In the run-up to Christmas, Woods for Learning, an award-winning inclusive Forest School in Horsham, offered to donate free wooden discs to Horsham's schools, charities, parents, childminders and other children's organisations.

Woods for Learning cut the discs from wood taken from sustainable hazel coppiced woodland. Children use the discs in fun Christmas activities to create environmentally friendly Christmas decorations.

Gary Marlow, founder of Woods for Learning, received a staggering 8771 requests for the discs in response to his generous offer on the Visit Horsham Facebook page.

The recipients of the discs put them to good use, and Woods for Learning received some great feedback, including this quote (and the photograph above) from a Year 6 Teaching Assistant at Heron Way Primary School;

"My 60 children all made one of these with your little logs and they took them home today. The whole school gave us lots of praise as the children worked so hard on them."
